El Paso Central Starts eBulletin
This week, El Paso Central started something they are calling an eBulletin. The eBulletin takes all the information from the bulletin and makes it accessible to anyone visiting their church website.
“I saw that the Collegedale Community Church in Collegedale, TN, was doing something similar and really liked the concept”, says Chris Clapp, webmaster for the church. ”It really made for better communication as well as helping keep the site updated.”
What really helped was the ability to put an expiration date on the announcements. ”So many times you go to a church website and if they have some time-sensitive news on their site, a good share of the time it was outdated. We didn’t want that to happen with our church site so we found a way to have our event announcements disappear from the site after they had passed, helping to automatically keep our site up-to-date and relevant.”
The church also has their printed bulletin posted on the site as well that people can download and view.
